Brandeis Benefactor Pin
In 1980 I was asked to design the “Benefactor Pin” for the Brandeis University Library. I had little experience in jewelry making, but I was intrigued. I received an honorarium for the design and then after acceptance of the design, I became the manufacturer. The donor contributed $1,000 and I charged $100 to make the pin.
My pin was very popular and the library sold a large number.
What a marvelous combination! I created something people
liked, I did what I love to do best, money was raised for the institution and I was paid for my work. This combination started me on a new pathway which has lead to institutions raising funds in a much more interesting and creative way. |
