Empty Sled Pin/Pendant
When the mother of Sarah Pryor asked me to design a sculpture to memorialize her daughter’s disappearance, she told me that Sarah loved her dog and loved to play in the snow. She recounted that when she called to Sarah to come in out of the snow, Sarah said “What if the sun comes out and melts all the snow?” I thought of the tradition of the riderless horse. Thus, this Pin/Pendant of the empty sled represents the sadness of this little girl’s absence. It is signed on the back by me.
