My family and I had camped in the Sinai for six days and had climbed the three thousand steps of Mount Sinai. As we drove back to Jerusalem through the hot, dusty desert, we came to the Red Sea, where we saw Bedouins fishing from their boats. They must have thought we were crazy as we jumped out of the truck, ran to the other end of the beach, tore off our clothes, and threw ourselves into the delectably cool water.
